Selecting extras when you reserve your car rental in Glasgow guarantees stress-free driving. Navigate city streets with a Sat Nav while keeping your children safe in child seats. If you are visiting in the Winter we also have cold weather tyres.

Traffic Information

Glasgow International Airport is 8 miles West of the city centre. When you arrive shuttle buses take you to the car hire centre where our desk is clearly visible. Glasgow Central Station is within an easy walk of our city centre branch while Glasgow Queen St Station is just a short taxi or bus ride away. The Glasgow East branch is convenient for Easterhouse Train Station.

The centre of Glasgow has tricky one-way systems, especially in the business districts of Blythswood Hill and Anderston, along with bus lanes and pedestrianised areas. The good news is that these can be easily navigated with one of our Sat Navs.

There is limited street parking in the city centre but double check you are not in a residents' zone. Underground and multi-storey car parks are available across Glasgow. Our staff are always happy to advise on local driving when you collect your vehicle.

Turn on your Sat Nav and take a drive around to get your bearings before planning a day out. Look out for fine examples of Victorian and Edwardian architecture with their intricate stonework. Glasgow is also famous for its tenement blocks. Many have been swept away but those remaining have been sympathetically restored to reveal their glowing red and blonde sandstone exteriors. Glasgow was home to Charles Rennie Mackintosh. His beautiful Art Nouveau work can be admired in architecture and museums across the city. Take a few hours to explore Glasgow's huge and varied selection of museums which range from the imposing Kelvingrove Art Gallery to the more specialised Glasgow Police Museum. Glasgow is football mad and if you are too, all three of the major stadiums, Ibrox, Hampden Park and Celtic Park, are within an easy drive and offer fascinating backstage tours on non-match days.

Sixt Tip

Glasgow has so much on offer that it would take an extended holiday to sample all of its attractions but take a look under the surface to find some quirkier spots. Take the short drive to the old swimming pool, wash house and community laundry that has been brought back to life at Govanhill. Tour the beautiful Edwardian building and watch classes or performances taking place in the empty, restored swimming pool. The Riverside Museum delivers an intriguing look at Glasgow's history through its transport. This modern building, where clever displays sit skateboards beside steam trains, was Zaha Hadid's first UK project and sits in a former River Clyde shipyard. Drive along the banks of the River Clyde to reach the museum.

Sightseeing Destinations

When it is time to escape the bustle of the city head to the tranquillity of Loch Lomond and its beautiful surroundings.
